Portrait of Pam Grier I finished recently.

Pam Grier

She's one of my heroes, especially in "Coffy." :)

I normally hate painting, and this was kind of a monster, but I thought only painting would do the majesty that is Ms. Grier justice. I'm not thrilled with my painting skills, but whatever.

Also, did you know Pam Grier's measurements are 38-22-36?? KA-razy!

Wow, looking back through this journal, I have a lot of "sorry for not updating in a while" entries, haha. I have been working on some stuff, but I just haven't felt it was good enough to post...and then more recently I just haven't had as much time to myself to draw as I used to. Boohoo. Anyway, enough with the excuses; on with the arts!

Here's all I have for you today. You may recall the bad-assed mohawked Aiyani chick I've posted here a few times, star of my yet unnamed post-apocalyptic graphic novel, along with her freckled, large-bosomed, blue-haired sidekick Sidney. Yes, it is the same character, but I updated her design a bit. Not sure if I'll stick with it, but as of now I like it. I wanted to do some cool Beyond Thunderdome stuff with her, haha. Oh, and I think I'm changing her name to Nyla? Not sure about that either at the mo. Comment and give me cool sorta ethnic-sounding names! Preferably ones with cool meanings and/or that begin and end with A!

the Satanic Nurses

After working on Sioux and thinking about his band, I decided to undertake drawing and fleshing out the rest of his band, even though they are merely background characters, if even that. Which is a bit saddening for me, seeing as after spending time with these characters I've come to really like them, haha. Perhaps a spin off, someday. :p Anyway, here are the results.

the Satanic Nurses

From L to R: Itxaro Rodriguez, bass; Micah Gunn, keyboards/backup vocals; Sioux Stonetree, vocals/lead guitar; Lotus Oglesby, guitar/backup vocals; Jules Awino, drums.

I really like drawing Sidney. I hope someday soon I'll be able to start really drawing my girls-in-a-post-apocalyptic-world-love-story idea.

I got married on Halloween a few days ago. :) Married life is nice. Just for kicks, I did a drawing of Miss Bunbun dressed up as me on my wedding day.

Red-Hot Torchy

I'm working on doing little pin ups of all the characters from the Mysterious Miss Bunbun for a character page, and I just finished Torchy.

Torchy pin up

As usual, I prefer the sketch version more though. :/

Torchy sketch

I've come to love Torchy a lot while working on her!
Some trivia: I got her name from a very short-lived "girls comics" character from the 50's. She was a busty, dumb blonde who was supposed to be a teenager but wore tight sweaters and stiletto heels. I thought Torchy was a cool name and deserved a better vessel!

I based her a bit on Joan Crawford.

Here's the line work for a drawing of Sioux I'm currently working on.

Sioux Lines

For those who don't know, he's a character in Last Place Champs, and is sort of like a famous local rock star. I haven't drawn him in a long time and I wanted to update him a bit; here he's in his full glam rock regalia, but when not on stage he dresses a bit more normally, but still with that glammy edge. He has blue hair, which you will see when I color it. This is another character I absolutely love even though he's not really a main character. :3

P.S. I don't know anything about music or instruments at all, so if anybody sees any weirdness with his guitar bag/strap, or can get me a refernce picture, please let me know, because I couldn't find any pictures of this type of carrier from the angle I needed at all, so the strap looks kinda funny to me. :/

Finally finished that drawing of Vondra from my last entry. I avoided it for a long time because I was having trouble choosing colors. :p

I decided to add an extra supporting character to Last Place Champs to kinda enhance another character, and pretty much on the first try I came up with Vondra. Now I like her so much I wish she wasn't just a supporting character, haha! I might work out ways to feature her more, if it fits into the story....

So here's Vondra. I banged this out tonight...I'm going to color it later, but right now my arm is killing me. D:

Did this for a friend of mine who writes video game-related articles for GotGame.com, and wanted a pope-themed video game cover illustration in the style of old Soviet propoganda for an upcoming article. I couldn't pass it up, natch. Oh, and the name was her idea. I knocked it out in about a day due to time constraints, so it isn't as finished and polished as I would have liked. But still, it was fun. :)

Here's a drawing I've been working on, on and off lately. It's one of those that I can't seem to be happy with. I'll probably end up scrapping it and re-drawing it. :p I like that Math isn't wearing a suit and tie for a change, though.

Sorry for not posting in a while...I've been working a lot lately and when I do get a chance to draw, it's usually comics instead of pin-ups and stuff.

But here's a sexy drawing I did recently when I briefly entertained the idea of drawing an "adult" comic.

Foofoo girls preview

Here's a preview sketch of most of the female cast for Miss Bunbun, pretty much all of which haven't appeared yet.

Top Row, L to R: Torchy, the star of Club Foofoo who is quite a bitch. She's aging, and not gracefully. Angry and insecure about her waning youth, looks, and popularity, she's pretty vicious to the other girls, especially when Miss Bunbun comes along and steals the spotlight.
Karat, sort of a good version of Torchy. Rose from humble beginnings to become a great burlesque star. Kind of a golddigger; married to a very rich, very old former client. No nonsense, but has a big heart.
Lapinette, a melodramatic former actress/model with a French accent. Somewhat of a melancholic. Great lounge singer.
Bottom Row, L to R: Blanche, a Southern Belle stereotype. Probably the most sweet and innocent of the girls next to Miss Bunbun. Enjoys cooking.
Clover, a handywoman and bouncer at Club Foofoo. Very strong and tomboyish; good at pretty much all sports and do-it-yourself projects. Thinking about making her related to Benny, but not sure yet.
Pepper, a precocious bobby-soxer. I'm thinking about possibly making her Miss Bunbun's little sister, but can't decide yet.

Sorry for the lack of updates...I'm really bad! I haven't been sketching much lately, but I've been keeping busy. My gay porn charm bracelet was featured on the PlayGirl blog (don't look if you're under 18, obviously) since they did a special on "Cuntry Crafts." Exciting! I know my mother would be proud. :)

As for artstuff, here are some brief character sketch things I did for my comic "My Darling Zombie" of some of the main characters.

Cute zombies ahoy! )

And no, this comic isn't out there anywhere for reading yet; it's an old story that I came up with in high school but never really got around to working on. But I've always loved the characters and basic plot, and I do hope to work on it someday soon when I finish other comic projects, so I thought the character design and story could use a face-lift.

So I was featured in this book about crafts featuring crafty people from around the world that was published in China, and i finally got it in the mail today!

Here it is (although the page, like the book, is in Chinese and I have no idea what it says, heh):
"I Love Handicraft: 56 Craft Creators' Interview and DIY Tips"

And here's my feature; it's how to make a bunny keychain.

It's a really awesome book and has all kinds of neat stuff in it I'd like to try to do...I feel kinda lame, like mine isn't as cool as the others, haha. But I'm really honored they used me because there are so many great artists featured. :)
